Project Overview
George Robertson designed and installed a premium in-roof solar photovoltaic system with integrated battery storage for a new-build property at Cunningsburgh. The installation combined Viridian Clearline Fusion in-roof solar panels with a Sigenergy hybrid inverter, 10kWh battery storage and backup gateway, creating a modern renewable energy system that blends seamlessly into the roof while providing intelligent energy management.
The completed system has an installed capacity of 3.35kWp with an estimated annual generation of approximately 2,466kWh.
The Challenge
The customer wanted a renewable energy system that complemented the appearance of their new home while reducing electricity costs and increasing energy independence. An integrated roof finish, battery storage and future-ready backup capability were all important design requirements.
Our Solution
Following a detailed site survey, George Robertson designed and installed:
• 10 × Viridian Clearline PV16-335 in-roof solar panels
• 3.35kWp installed solar capacity
• Sigenergy 3.6kW Hybrid Inverter
• 10kWh Sigenergy battery storage
• Sigenergy backup gateway
• Full AC/DC protection, generation metering and monitoring
• Complete testing, commissioning, DNO notification and MCS certification.
Premium In-Roof Solar Design
Unlike conventional on-roof systems, the Viridian Clearline Fusion panels replace part of the roof covering, creating a clean, low-profile appearance that integrates perfectly with the slate roof while maintaining excellent weather protection.
Intelligent Energy Storage
The Sigenergy hybrid system automatically manages solar generation, household demand and battery charging through the mySigen app. The 10kWh battery stores excess daytime generation for use during the evening, reducing reliance on imported electricity while also providing backup capability via the Sigenergy Gateway.
