Here at GR Kitchens we offer a service from the initial product concept all the way through to the finished project. Let us take the stress out of home improvements as we project manage your kitchen from start to finish, always with your vision at the forefront of our minds.

1. Initial Consultation

At the initial consultation, we will meet with you in our kitchen showroom, on the first floor of our shop at the Hillhead, Lerwick. We will discuss your current kitchen space and your hopes and requirements for your dream kitchen. Visiting the kitchen showroom allows you to view a huge range of kitchen furniture, styles, and finishes, and we will be there to help you identify your preferences.

This first meeting usually takes between 20 minutes to an hour, depending on what you need to cover. There is no time limit.

2. Design Process

Based on your ideas, your designer will prepare initial designs. These include photo-realistic visuals and a sophisticated 360° visual representation for you to review at home, we will send this to you via email.

You can then make follow-up appointments with your designated designer to allow for tweaks and adjustments to ensure your final kitchen is exactly as you envisage. We also advise on further important details like wall and floor tiles, lighting options, and appliances.

3. Home Visit

Once you’re happy with your kitchen design, we’ll conduct a detailed site visit to confirm measurements, ensuring a smooth installation process. At this stage, we can discuss any installation requirements and any other electrical/joinery work that might be required. Following the visit, we can provide an installation quote if required, and send you final documents to review before confirming your order.

4. Place Order

Once you're completely satisfied with your kitchen design, we'll begin the order process with our specialist suppliers to source everything from kitchen units to appliances. Upon giving the go-ahead, the kitchen will be manufactured to your specifications. The typical turnaround time is approximately six weeks, from order to delivery.

5. Kitchen Installation

Our team of qualified tradesmen, including joiners and electricians, will fit and install your kitchen. We also handle any additional building, plumbing, and decorating works required to achieve the perfect finish. If you have your own tradesmen, we’ll guide you through the design process and deliver your kitchen.

6. Aftercare

We understand that having a kitchen installed can be stressful, so we’re on hand to answer any questions and strive to complete all works swiftly and to the highest standard.
