The Brief
The customer was a young couple adding a new extension to their home. They had a vision from the start, they wanted a shaker-style kitchen with a central island. Key themes we noted from our first meeting were: timeless style, a functional layout, smart finishes, considered storage solutions, and seamless integration of the new extension.
The Solution
This kitchen extension project was developed with an emphasis on combining a timeless style with a smart and functional layout for everyday life, allowing the space to work seamlessly with the rest of the home.
The client was particularly drawn to a two-tone colour scheme, opting for a dark blue island paired with lighter grey cabinetry. This combination offered a modern yet timeless appeal, perfectly suited to the overall aesthetic they were aiming to achieve.
Masterclass Kitchens was the obvious choice for the classic shaker-style kitchen. One of the standout features requested was a mantle around the hob, intended to serve as a striking focal point while adding character to the cooking area.
In addition to the main kitchen layout, there was an area available for extra cabinetry. To make the most of this space, items from the Masterclass Signature Collection were incorporated—specifically, the Connery Cocktail Cabinet and the Hathaway Pantry. These pieces added both functionality and a touch of luxury, completing the design with thoughtful, high-end details.
Altogether, the project delivers a timeless, functional kitchen that meets the client’s vision in every detail.
